Best lawns to lay on in Paris

#1 Invalides
The softest, greenest bed of grass in all of Paris. Pros: - views of the Pont Alexandre III - close to the Seine, and river activities like the boat club le Flow Cons: - law is not far from main street, there fore cars can be seen
#2 AVOID THESE (!)
(/) Champs de Mars: grass is sparce and trampled by constant flow of tourists (/) Place de Vosges: grass is patchy and poorly maintained

#3 Tuileries
Great for those who want to socialize and people watch! Pros: - Enjoy the sunshine among other trendy picnic-ers - guarenteed a gymnstics show as acrobats regularly frequent here on sunny weekends - Beautiful views of the Louvre Cons: - can become a party environment - No easy access bathrooms

#4 Parc des Buttes Chaumont
This fairy-tale park is hidden in the north east corner of paris. Come here for breath taking views of the city (but be prepared for some uphill climbing) Pros: - unparalleled nature views - close to water Cons: -not centrally located - uphill climb to the top of the park

#5 Jardin du Luxembourg
Lounge on the shaded strips of lawn in what's considered (in my humble opinion) the most beautiful gardens of Paris Pros: - in the beautiful 6th arrondissment - mostly parisian locals - beautiful grounds to walk around -well shaded (for avoiding the sun on hot summer days) Cons: - shaded (cold during evening picnics) - not all grass is open to the public, park rangers may yell at you if you sit on the wrong green bits
